Roy Albert DeMeo (/ d m e o /; September 7, 1940 - January 10, 1983) was an Italian-American mobster in the Gambino crime family of New York City.He headed a group referred to as the "DeMeo crew", which became notorious for the large number of murders they committed and for the grisly way they disposed of the bodies, which became known as "the Gemini Method". Pittsburg Phil was a good looking ladies man who had dated many beautiful women. The murder seemed to trigger a dormant bloodlust in the gangster. The victim was a music publisher with G. Schirmer Publications, not the former garment union executive named Philip Orlovsky whom they had been dispatched to kill, because Orlovsky was informing prosecutors of Buchalters illegal activities within the unions.
